The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Energy Bars are subject to this recall:

  • Coconut + Almond Butter + Chocolate Chips MacroBars, sold in 2.3-ounce (65 gram) bars with a sell-by date of 1/3/2018, a batch/lot of 3516 and a UPC of 853555006689
  • Coconut + Almond Butter + Chocolate Chips MacroBars, sold in 2.3-ounce (65 gram) bars with a sell-by date of 1/10/2018, a batch/lot of 3525 and a UPC of 853555006689

According to the FDA, this recall was initiated after GoMacro was notified by its primary supplier of Almonds, an ingredient used in the recalled Macrobars and Thrive Bars, may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled GoMacro Energy Bars, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Energy Bars to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
