Canada/Ottawa: Pusateri's Chinese Chicken Salad & Pansit Recall [Canada]Pusateri’s Fine Foods recalls certain batch/lots of Pusateri’s brand Chinese Chicken Crunch Salads and Pansits due to undeclared Eggs, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Salads and Pansits are subject to this recall:

  • Pusateri’s brand Chinese Chicken Crunch Salad, sold in 240 gram plastic clamshell containers; affected date codes: all best-before dates up to and including 2017.JN.09; UPC: 0290005 010993
  • Pusateri’s brand Pansit – The Philippines Favourite Noodles Stirfry!, sold in 340 gram plastic clamshell containers; affected date codes: all best-before dates up to and including 0290227 007498

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Pusateri’s has recalled certain batch/lots of Pusateri’s brand Chinese Chicken Crunch Salad and Pansit from the marketplace because they may contain Egg, an ingredient not listed on the food label. People with an allergy to Egg should not consume the recalled products identified above.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Salads and Pansits and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
