Canada/Ottawa: Thalassa brand Seafood & Fish Mix Recall [Canada]Groupe Alimentaire Miron (9073-7081 Quebec Inc.) recalls certain batch/lots of Thalassa brand Seafood & Fish Mix due to undeclared Egg, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Foods are subject to this recall:

  • Thalassa brand Seafood & Fish Mix, 350 gram pouch; affected product codes: all codes where Egg is not declared on the label; UPC: 5 074424 140005

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Groupe Alimentaire Miron (9073-7081 Quebec Inc.) has recalled certain batch/lots of Thalassa brand Seafood & Fish Mix from the marketplace because they contains Egg, an ingredient not declared on the food product label. People with an allergy to egg should not consume the recalled product identified above.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Seafood & Fish Mix products and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
