The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Frozen Waffles are subject to this recall:

  • An estimated 5,248 pounds of 7.1-ounce trays with clear film in cardboard box packages containing Waffles, Turkey Sausage Patty with Sliced Apple Seasoned w/Brown Sugar and Cinnamon sold with batch/lot codes of 2016355, 2016363, 2016364 or 2016362 as well as use-by dates of 06/21/18, 06/28/18, 06/29/18 or 06/30/18.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, the products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-51269” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These food items were shipped to institutions in Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, South Carolina and Tennessee.

The problem was discovered on May 19, 2017 when Golden Gourmet was notified by its primary ingredients supplier that the Waffles used in its Waffle and Turkey Sausage Products had been recalled due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Frozen Waffles, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Waffles to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
