The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Chicken Products are subject to this recall:

  • NY Livestock Market, Inc. Buddhist Religious Exempt (Eviscerated Poultry, sold in brown shipping bags containing various quantities of 4.9-pound young Whole Chickens, with head and feet intact.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the Chickens subject to recall bear establishment number “P-45068” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to restaurants and retail locations in New York state.

The problem was discovered through routine testing performed by US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) inspection personnel for the National Residue Program. This testing revealed the sample was violative for Nitrofurazone, a residue of public health concern.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Chicken, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
