The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Cheeses are subject to this recall:

  • Quesos De La Costa White Cheese, sold in one (1) pound opaque plastic bags with the name is surrounded by an orange border and a small cow on the label. The Cheese has an expiration date of August 31, 2017 and a UPC code of 8 52304 74023 2. The lot number of this Cheese is 254.
  • Queso Duro Blando White Cheese, sold in one (1) pound opaque plastic bags with the name is surrounded by an orange border and a small cow on the label. The Cheese has an expiration date of August 31, 2017 and a UPC code of 8 52304 74023 2. The lot number of this Cheese is 254.
  • Hard Soft White Cheese, sold in one (1) pound opaque plastic bags with the name is surrounded by an orange border and a small cow on the label.  The Cheese has an expiration date of August 31, 2017 and a UPC code of 8 52304 74023 2. The lot number of this Cheese is 254.

According to the FDA, the Queso Duro Blando / Hard White Cheese (Morolique) was distributed only in the state of California through supermarkets and other retail stores.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Cheese, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Cheese to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
