The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Cheese Lasagna is subject to this recall:

  • Chef Luca’s Lasagna Al Forno – Baked Cheese Lasagna, sold in 15-ounce (425 gram), black and  yellow colored cardboard and paper sleeve with a picture of the Lasagna and the phrases, Chef Luca’s Lasagna Al Forno, Gluten Free, All Natural, No Preservatives, Lower Calorie, Lower Cholesterol, a product code of CL-LAS and the following batch/lot number and associated expiration dates:
    • Batch/lot number 0387 – expiration date: 02/07/2018
    • Batch/lot number 0527 – expiration date: 02/21/2018
    • Batch/lot number 0547 – expiration date: 02/23/2018
    • Batch/lot number 1147 – expiration date: 04/24/2018

According to the FDA, Italian Gluten Free Food CL has recalled the above-identified Chef Luca’s Lasagna Al Forno Meals because they may contain Egg, an ingredient not declared on the product label.

The firm has received one (1) report of Anaphylaxis on or about May 12th, 2017. The affected individual was reportedly treated and released from medical care.

The recalled Chef Luca’s Lasagna Al Forno was distributed in CT, DE, MA, MD, NJ, NY, PA and VA through outlets including KeHe Distributors, River Valley Foods, Wegmans, H.E.B. Stores and Uncle Giuseppe’s retail stores.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Cheese Lasagna Meals and could be allergic to their Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
