Canada/Ottawa: Scarlett's Sweet Beets Baby Food Recall [Canada]Tiny Tummies Baby Food Inc. recalls certain batch/lots of Tiny Tummies Scarlett’s branded Sweet Beets Blend Baby Food due to suspected presence of whole pits or pit pieces and consequential risk of choking, ingestion and internal laceration, all serious health hazards. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Baby Foods are subject to this recall:

  • Tiny Tummies branded Scarlett’s Sweet Beets Blend Baby Food, sold in 156 gram clear plastic tubs with a product code of 1170228 and a UPC of 6 27843 70826 1
  • Tiny Tummies branded Scarlett’s Sweet Beets Blend Baby Food, sold in 156 gram clear plastic tubs with a product code of 1170308 and a UPC of 6 27843 70826 1
  • Tiny Tummies branded Scarlett’s Sweet Beets Blend Baby Food, sold in 156 gram clear plastic tubs with a product code of 1170319 and a UPC of 6 27843 70826 1

According to the CFIA, Tiny Tummies Baby Food Inc. has recalled certain batch/lots of Scarlett’s Sweet Beets Blend Baby Food from the marketplace due to the potential presence of whole pits or pit pieces. You should not consume the recalled product identified above.

If pit fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Scarlett’s branded Sweet Beets Blend Baby Food, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
