Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Nut-based Snacks are subject to this recall (in alphabetical order):

  • Chocolate Peanuts, sold in five (5)-ounce bags. The recall was initiated because the product label does not declare the Soy ingredient, a known allergen.
  • Hunter Trail Mix, sold in two-and-a-half (2-1/2)-ounce bags. The recall was initiated because the product label does not declare the Milk ingredient, a known allergen.
  • Milk Chocolate Peanuts, sold in four (4)-ounce bags. The recall was initiated because the product label does not declare the Soy ingredient, a known allergen.
  • Sweet and Spicy Mix, sold in three (3)-ounce bags. The recall was initiated because the product label does not declare the Soy ingredient, a known allergen.
  • Sweet and Spicy Mix, sold in two (2)-ounce bags. The recall was initiated because the product label does not declare the Soy and Wheat ingredients, both known allergens.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, the recalled Nut-based Snacks were available for sale prior to May 1, 2017 at locations throughout Ohio. This issue was discovered during a routine inspection conducted by the Ohio Department of Agriculture.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Nut-based Snacks and could be allergic to their Milk, Soy and/or Wheat ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
