Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Veal Products are subject to this recall:

  • All current Newmarket Meat Packers Limited branded Veal Cuts (that could be used as “precursor material”), sold in variable sizes and weights with production dates (marked as “packed-on” dates) ranging from March 22 to April 11, 2017. No UPCs were listed with this recall.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the CFIA, Newmarket Meat Packers Limited has recalled all batch/lots of Veal Products due to suspected E. coli O157:H7. You should not consume the Veal listed above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Veal Products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

Please note: similar Veal Products have been recalled for similar reasons, specifically Escherichia coli (“E.coli”) contamination and consequential bacterial infection.
