Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Processed and Breaded Chicken are subject to this recall (in alphabetical order):

  • Maple Leaf branded Chicken Breast Strips, sold in 840 gram packages with a product code of 2018-04-20 and a UPC of 0 63100 03089 6
  • Mina Halal branded Chicken Burgers, sold in 828 gram packages with a product code of 7118 and a UPC of 0 63100 42143 4
  • Sufra Halal branded Chicken Burgers, sold in 828 gram packages with a product code of 2018-01-20 and a UPC of 0 61483 05778 3

According to the CFIA, Maple Leaf Foods has recalled certain batch/lots of several Breaded Chicken Products from the marketplace because they may contain the toxin produced by Staphylococcus bacteria. You should not consume the recalled products listed above.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Maple Leaf Foods branded Breaded Chicken Products, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
