Canada/Ottawa: Bombay Sapphire London Dry Gin Recall [Canada]The Liquor Control Board of Ontario (“LCBO”) updates its existing recall for certain batch/lots of Bombay Sapphire brand London Dry Gin due to suspected excessive alcohol content, a serious health hazard. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Gin is subject to this recall:

  • Bombay Sapphire brand London Dry Gin, sold in 1.14 litre bottles, a product code of L16304 W and a UPC of 6 20213 19020 8

According to the CFIA, the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (“LCBO”) has recalled certain batch/lots of Bombay Sapphire brand London Dry Gin from the marketplace due to high alcohol content. You should not consume the recalled Gin identified above.

This recall was initiated after the discovery that, during production, one batch of Gin was bottled before correct dilution to achieve the stated 40% alcohol content by volume. As a result, the affected batch has alcohol content by volume of 77%.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm beverage poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food or beverage, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect product.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled London Dry Gin, please do not consume it directly nor use it as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
