The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) reports this recall involves certain 80% efficiency Gas-Fired Furnaces sold under the Amana, Daikin and Goodman brand names used with home heating and cooling systems.

  • The recalled Furnaces have model numbers beginning AMEH80, DM80HE and GME8, as well as serial numbers beginning 1609, 1610, 1611 or 1612. The brand name is shown on the outside of the Furnace while the serial number is located on the label found by opening the Furnace door.

==> Always ensure all necessary safety precautions are followed prior to any furnace maintenance. Power to the Furnace must be switched off. If gas line repairs, maintenance or servicing is indicated, these operations must be performed by a qualified and licensed gas installation or repair technician.

According to the CPSC, the blower motor in the Furnace is not grounded. This poses an electrical shock hazard to individuals servicing the units.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Gas-fired Furnaces, please do not use them. Instead, immediately contact Goodman for a free repair on the particular Furnace.
