Among the 33 recalls the European Union has announced in this first report of May 2017, the following notification was made:

Fossil brand Ladies' Handbag Recall [EU]Fossil brand Ladies’ Handbags; sold with a type/number model designation of  EMI TSL SDL BAG WINE, an item number of ZB6963609 and a SKU/barcode/EAN/UPC of 4053858783218.

The type of hazards presented with this Ladies’ Handbag include chemical concentrations in excess of the European allowable limits: specifically, the amount of Chromium (VI) in the leather used in the production of this Handbag is too high (measured value up to 13 mg/kg). Chromium (VI) is sensitising and may trigger allergic reactions.

Because of this defect, the fashion accessory does not comply with the European REACH Regulations. As such, these Fossil brand Ladies’ Handbags have been ordered recalled from end users and withdrawn from the European marketplace.
