The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Snack Foods are subject to this recall:

  • Herbalife branded Protein Bars – Peanut Butter flavor, distributed in the US from 6/30/2016 to 4/7/2017, exclusively to individual independent distributors as 14-pack cartons. Numbers of the affected batch/lots include 066539A11, 066553A11, 066601A11, 066660A11, 066688A11 and 066691A11.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, Herbalife has recalled certain batch/lots of its Peanut Butter Protein Bars because the product may contain a trace amount of Fish Gelatin, an ingredient added to the Bars for flavoring provided by a third-party supplier.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Protein Bars and could be allergic to their Fish Gelatin ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
