Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Basil Pesto is subject to this recall:

  • The Farming Fish brand Organic Basil Pesto with Watercress, packaged in 8.5 ounce plastic deli container tubs with a UPC of 7 23175 33586 8. The recalled Pesto was distributed in retail stores in Oregon with the following “enjoy or freeze by” dates:
    • 4/30/2017
    • 5/6/2017
    • 5/13/2017
    • 5/20/2017

According to the FDA, Our Local Bounty has recalled an estimated 312 containers of its Farming Fish brand Organic Basil Pesto with Watercress, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Basil Pesto, please do not consume it directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Pesto to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
