The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Sandwich Breads are subject to this recall:

  • H-E-B 100% Whole Wheat; sold with the following neck tie colors: orange, green and blue; UPC: 4122003278
  • H-E-B Extra Thin; sold with the following neck tie colors: orange, green and blue; UPC: 4122084868
  • H-E-B Round Top White; sold with the following neck tie colors: orange, green and blue; UPC: 4122035774
  • H-E-B Split Top Honey Wheat; sold with the following neck tie colors: orange, green and blue; UPC: 4122003108
  • H-E-B Split Top White; sold with the following neck tie colors: orange, green and blue; UPC: 4122088001
  • H-E-B Texas Toast; sold with the following neck tie colors: orange and green; UPC: 4122062888
  • Hill Country Fare Extra Thin; sold with the following neck tie colors: orange and green; UPC: 4122064420
  • Hill Country Fare Thin Bread; sold with the following neck tie colors: orange, green and blue; UPC: 4122046090
  • Hill Country Fare Wheat; sold with the following neck tie colors: orange, green and blue; UPC: 4122078985

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, this recall affects certain H-E-B and Hill Country Fare Sandwich Breads with a best-by date of 4/29 or earlier as listed above.

If plastic or rubber fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Sandwich Breads, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Bread to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
