The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Electronic Equipment are subject to this recall:

  • Panasonic FZ-G1 Tablet Computer with a Rechargeable Battery Pack. This product can be charged from AC or DC power sources. Tablet serial numbers: FZ-G1Axxxx, FZ-G1Cxxxx, FZ-G1Fxxxx, Fz-G1Lxxxx, FZ-G1Mxxxx and FZ-G1Nxxxx. Battery pack serial number: FZ-VZSU84U

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs, or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Panasonic Tablet FZ-G1 and Battery Packs can be found on the Web site above.

According to the ACCC, the Battery Pack supplied with the product may overheat when in use. If the Battery Pack overheats, it may ignite the Panasonic FZ-G1 Tablet Computer, posing a fire risk.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Panasonic Tablets, please do not use them with the battery installed. Instead, kindly use the Tablet plugged into a power source. If using the Tablet in the field, consumers should go to http://www.panasonic.com.au/fzg1productissue (link is external) to download a BIOS utility upgrade from Panasonic that will allow a safer use of the Battery Pack.
