Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Candle Holders and Accessories are subject to this recall:

  • Gumnut Candle Holder, supplied as a hoop pine plywood sheet with pieces pre-cut. The pieces are popped out of the sheet and slotted together to make a candle holder, similar to a 3-D jigsaw puzzle.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs, or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the ACCC, the assembled wooden Candle Holders may catch fire. The product and others like it are prohibited by the permanent ban on combustible Candle Holders, as set out in Consumer Protection Notice No.12 of 2011 Permanent ban on Combustible Candle Holders.

This ban covers objects that are designed to hold or decorate a candle and that ignite and continue to flame for at least five (5) seconds when subjected to flame or heat emanating from a candle. This defect creates the potential for burns, serious injury and/or death if the recalled Candle Holders catches fire.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Candle Holders, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
