The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Smoked Fish are subject to this recall:

  • Gravlax Smoked Fish, 4-ounce and 8-ounce portions sold in black cryovaced bags
  • Irish Smoked Fish, 4-ounce and 8-ounce portions sold in black cryovaced bags
  • Kippered Salmon Smoked Fish, 8-ounce portions sold in black cryovaced bags
  • Norwegian Smoked Fish, 4-ounce and 8-ounce and whole sides sold in black cryovaced bags
  • Pastrami Smoked Fish, 4-ounce and 8-ounce portions sold in black cryovaced bags
  • Sable Smoked Fish, 8-ounce portions sold in black cryovaced bags
  • Scottish Smoked Fish, 4-ounce and 8-ounce portions
  • Sturgeon Smoked Fish, 4-ounce portions sold in black cryovaced bags
  • Trimmings of Smoked Fish, 8-ounce portions sold in black cryovaced bags
  • Trout Fillet 8-ounce portions sold in black cryovaced bags
  • Whitefish Salad Smoked Fish portions sold in black cryovaced bags

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, these recalled Smoked Fish products were distributed to markets, restaurants and hotels throughout Alabama, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Smoked Fish portions, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Fish to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
