Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Inflatable Swim Rings are subject to this recall:

  • Inflatable Swim Rings, 55 cm inflatable swim rings printed with Australian flag design sold with a model number of A132005

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs, or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the Swim Rings’ packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, the recalled Swim Rings do not comply with Australia’s mandatory standard Consumer Protection Notice No 2 of 2009 Consumer Product Safety Standard for Flotation Toys and Aquatic Toys. The Swim Rings do not carry the required statement that the product is not a lifesaving device nor the required warning that the Swim Rings are simply Toys and should only be used in shallow water and under direct adult supervision.

These defects mean that parents and other caregivers may not be aware of important safety information involved with these devices. There is, therefore, an increased risk of drowning if the Swim Rings are not used as intended.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Swim Rings, please do not use them. Instead, kindly contact Oceana for a full refund.

If you have any questions about this recall, please contact Oceana International on 02 9604 1211 from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
