Among the 26 recalls the European Union has announced in this fourth report of March 2017, the following notification was made:

ITALVapor: The New Light Weight Steam Iron, a travel steam iron sold with a model designation of Type S001 and a barcode of 80210840502107.

The type of hazards presented include burn and electric shock injuries due to the AC mains cable being too short. In turn, this defect could consequently cause cord deterioration as a result of mechanical force, thus leaving live parts accessible.

Due to the way the Steam Iron is constructed, the user’s hand could come into contact with parts that reach high temperatures. The product does not, therefore, comply with the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European standard EN 60335 and has been ordered withdrawn from the marketplace.
