US/Washington: J & Y Dasung, Inc. recalls an estimated 178,335 pounds of Frozen Pork Dumplings due to suspected failure to produce the Dumplings without the benefit of federal inspection, a serious health hazard. USDA: http://ht.ly/j56x30aa3Ct
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Dumplings are subject to this recall:
- Boxes containing twelve (12), 3-pound plastic bags of “Som See Neh Vegetable Meat Dumpling” with marking that indicate, “Shelf Life: Frozen with 16 months” and a case code of 96859-08224.
- Boxes containing twelve (12), 3-pound plastic bags of “Som See Neh Kimchi Dumplings” with marking that indicate, “Shelf Life: Frozen with 16 months” and a case code of 96859-08223.
==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, he products subject to recall do not bear the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in Southern California.
The problem was discovered on March 14, 2017 when an Office of Investigations, Enforcement and Audit (“OIEA”) officer discovered the products in commerce, during routine surveillance activity at a retail store in California.
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Dumplings, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
