US/Washington: H & B Packing Co., Inc. recalls an estimated 73,742 pounds of Boneless Beef Products due to suspected E. coli O103 contamination and consequential bacterial infection, a serious health hazard. USDA: http://ht.ly/Olak30a5F2y
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Boneless Beef Products are subject to this recall:
- One (1) 60-pound box containing Boneless Beef with a case code of 69029 and a production date of 03/06/17
- Multiple combo bins containing an estimated 73,682-pounds of Boneless Beef with a case code of 69029 and a production date of 03/06/17.
==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the Boneless Beef subject to recall bears establishment number “EST. M13054” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to food manufacturers within the state of Texas.
The problem was discovered when the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) was notified by the State of Texas’ Meat Safety Assurance Unit about a positive non-O157 Shiga toxin-producing E. coli sample.

If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Boneless Beef, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store, distributor, wholesaler or outlet where you purchased it for a full refund.
