The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Dog Food is subject to this recall:

  • Blue Wilderness Rocky Mountain Recipe Red Meat Dinner Wet Food for Adult Dogs, sold in 12.5-ounce cans with a best-before date of June 7, 2019 (found on the bottom of the can) and a UPC of 840243101153

According to the FDA, one batch/lot code of Rocky Mountain Recipe Red Meat Dinner Wet Food for Adult Dogs has the potential to contain elevated levels of naturally occurring beef thyroid hormone. Elevated levels may affect a dog’s metabolism and can be associated with anxiousness, increased thirst, increased urinary output and weight loss. However, with prolonged consumption these symptoms may increase in severity and may include vomiting, diarrhea, and rapid or difficulty breathing.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm pet food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Pet Foods, please do not feed them to your pet(s). Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund. Wash down all prep surfaces, serving implements and serving bowls with a bleach/water mixture; rinse well with lots of hot soapy water.
