The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Spices are subject to this recall:
- Nabelsi brand Thyme, sold in 450 gram green foil/mylar pouches with a production date of 08/20/2016, an expiration date of 08/20/2018 and a UPC of 4670000205314
- Nabelsi brand Thyme, sold in 450 gram silver foil/mylar bags with a production date of 08/20/2016, an expiration date of 08/20/2018 and a UPC of 6670000205374

According to the FDA, there have been two (2) cases of high blood levels of Lead associated with this product to date. Both cases have been reported through the Illinois Department of Public Health, Environmental Health Protection.
The recalled Nabelsi brand Thyme was distributed from November 7, 2016 to February 22, 2017 to retailers, food service establishments and wholesalers in Illinois, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio and Virginia.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Thyme, please do not consume it directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Thyme to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
