Additional information:
The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Soybeans are subject to this recall:

  • Advanced Fresh Concepts Franchise Corp. branded Edamame (Soybeans) sold in eight (8) ounce (227 gram) packages and identified as “Edamame – Soybeans in Pods”, with dates ranging between 01/03/2017 and 03/17/2017 and a UPC of 0-23012-00261-9

According to the FDA, the recalled Edamame (Soybeans) were packaged by AFC Franchisees and sold, under refrigeration, at designated retail sushi counters within grocery stores, cafeterias, and corporate dining centers in the following states: AL, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, ME, MI, MN, MS, NC, NH, NM, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA and WY.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Edamame, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Edamame to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
