Australia/Canberra: Stihl Pty Ltd. recalls certain MS 461 and MS 461-R Chainsaws and GS 461 Concrete Cutters due to suspected fuel suction hose malfunction and consequential risk of fuel leakage and fire, both serious health and safety hazards. ACCC: http://ht.ly/I9f5309UR1h
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Chainsaws and Concrete Cutters are subject to this recall:
- MS 461 is a Chainsaw suited to professionals and designed for thinning work in medium and high density stands.
- MS 461-R is a Chainsaw suited to professionals and designed for fire, rescue and emergency services work.
- GS 461 is a Concrete Cutter suited to professionals and designed for free hand cutting in concrete with reinforcing, natural stone, sewage pipes (concrete, ductile iron) and general masonry.
==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs, or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the ACCC, the fuel suction hose between the fuel tank and the carburetor had, in some units within the affected serial number range, become pinched during assembly at the factory. If thus defect occurs, a small hole may form in the fuel suction hose, allowing fuel to leak out.
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Chainsaws and Concrete Cutters, please do not use them. Instead, kindly return the product it to your nearest Stihl servicing dealer to be checked and repaired.
