Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Torches/Flashlights are subject to this recall:

  • Young Ones My First Torch, a child’s torch in the form of a cat or dog sold with a keycode of 59698166

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs, or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the Torch’s packaging, design and retail presentation.

According to the ACCC, the screw holding the battery cover may fail, exposing the button batteries inside. If young children gain access to the button batteries and ingest them, they may suffer internal burn injuries, which can result in serious illness and even death. In addition, the batteries pose a choking hazard to young children.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Torches/Flashlights, please do not use them nor let your child play with or near them. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Small “button” batteries pose special ingestion risks to small children. Devices using them in the home or school should be closely examined and monitored for any breakage or other unintended access that could allow these batteries to be swallowed or otherwise ingested.

If you have any questions about this recall, please contact the company’s Customer Support Centre on 1300 753 567.
