The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Salami Products are subject to this recall:

  • 115-pound box containing 6 – 20-24 pound vacuum-packed packages of Uncle Guiseppe’s Spicy Dry Salami bearing the case code P11.
  • 209-pound box containing 12 – 20-24 pound vacuum-packed packages of Uncle Guiseppe’s Sweet Dry Salami bearing the case code P17.
  • 192-pound box containing 9 – 20-24 pound vacuum-packed packages of Uncle Guiseppe’s Spicy Soppressata Salami bearing the case code P11.
  • 327-pound box containing 13 – 20-24 pound vacuum-packed packages of Uncle Guiseppe’s Sweet Soppressata Salami bearing the case code P17.
  • 1,120-pound box containing bulk 20-24 pound vacuum-packed packages of Uncle Guiseppe’s Sweet Soppressata Salami.
  • 658-pound box containing bulk 20-24 pound vacuum-packed packages of Uncle Guiseppe’s Spicy Soppressata Salami.
  • 1,203-pound box containing bulk 20-24 pound vacuum-packed packages of Uncle Guiseppe’s Sweet Dry Salami.
  • 525-pound box containing bulk 20-24 pound vacuum-packed packages of Uncle Guiseppe’s Spicy Dry Salami.
  • 300-pound Bulk box containing vacuum-packed packages of Giorgio’s Cacciatorino Piccante.
  • 300-pound Bulk box containing vacuum-packed packages of Giorgio’s Cacciatorino Dolce.
  • 400-pound Bulk box containing vacuum-packed packages of Giorgio’s Hot Soppressatta
  • 400-pound Bulk box containing vacuum-packed packages of Giorgio’s Sweet Soppressatta

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the Salami subject to recall bears establishment number “EST. M4445” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to retail locations in New York.

The problem was discovered by FSIS personnel conducting label review verification activities on March 8, 2017. FSIS personnel discovered the presence of non-fat dry Milk, a known allergen, as well as other undeclared non-allergenic ingredients.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Salami and could be allergic to their ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
