The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Chocolate is subject to this recall:

  • Wegmans Swiss Recipe Milk Chocolate Big Ear Bunny Sucker, sold in 3 ounce, 36 count cases. Each individual Sucker contains a lavender label and reads Wegmans Milk Chocolate Sucker, comes in a 3-ounce, clear plastic flow wrap 6″ long by 2″ wide and is marked with lot number 35016 and with an expiration date of 9-15-2017 stamped on the lower left corner.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, Landies Candies Co. of Buffalo, NY has recalled its 3-ounce packages of Wegmans Swiss Recipe Milk Chocolate Big Ear Bunny Suckers because they may contain undeclared Peanuts. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to Peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Wegmans Milk Chocolate Suckers and could be allergic to their Peanut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
