The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Almond Extract are subject to recall:

  • Uncle Roy’s Natural Bitter Almond Extract, sold in a 50 ml (1.75 ounce) bottles with a best-before end codes of 2017 and 2018 and batch codes of 112787, 112789, 113172, 114374, 114432 or 115614

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs, or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, Uncle Roy’s has recalled certain batch/lots of Natural Bitter Almond Extract because they contain Nuts, an ingredient not mentioned on the label. This means the Almond Extract is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to Nuts.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Almond Extract and could be allergic to their Nut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
