Among the 58 recalls the European Union has announced in this first report of March 2017, the following notification was made:
Mirra Daily Moisturizing Cream with Apple Wax sold with am unknown model number, a batch number of 1117R41 and a barcode of 4602819006790.
The type of hazard presented include injuries due to skin irritation. The recalled Cream contains Methylisothiazolinone (“MI”) and Methylchloroisothiazolinone (“MCI”). Skin contact with MCI/MI-containing products such as the recalled Cream can provoke allergic contact dermatitis to sensitized persons. According to European Cosmetic Products Regulation, MCI/MI is consequently prohibited in leave-on cosmetic products such as these Creams.
The product, therefore, does not comply with the requirements of the relevant European standard and has been ordered recalled from end users, withdrawn from the marketplace and destroyed.
