The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Chicken are subject to this recall:

  • 2.78-ounce pouches of Great Value Minis to Bites of Chicken Sausage and Bouillon with packaging dates ranging from 01/01/2015 to 02/13/2017
  • 10-ounce pouches of Great Value Minis to Bites of Chicken Sausage and Bouillon with packaging dates ranging from 01/01/2015 to 02/13/2017
  • 2.78-ounce pouches of Econo Mini to Bite Size Chicken Sausages with packaging dates ranging from 01/01/2015 to 02/13/2017
  • 10-ounce pouches of Econo Mini to Bite Size Chicken Sausages with packaging dates ranging from 01/01/2015 to 02/13/2017
  • 5-ounce cans of Sedano’s Chicken Vienna Sausage in Chicken Broth with packaging dates of 08/2015 and 05/2016
  • 117 units per pouch of Carmela Foods Chicken Sausage and Bouillon with packaging dates ranging from 02/2016 to 02/14/2017

According to the USDA, the products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-7375” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These Chicken Sausage Products were shipped for retail and institutional use in Florida and Puerto Rico. According to Century Packing Corp. records, schools have purchased products associated with this recall through the company’s commercial channels.

The problem was discovered on February 9, 2017, by FSIS Inspection Program Personnel (“IPP”) while performing routine label verification activities. The IPP observed that the MSG ingredient, included in the bouillon seasoning used in the formulation of multiple Chicken Sausage Products, was not declared on the finished Chicken Sausage packaging labels.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Chicken Sausage Products and could be allergic to their ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
