US/Washington: Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods Soup Recall [US]Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods recalls an estimated 45 pounds of Beef and Chicken Chili Flavored Soup Products due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Milk, Soy and Wheat, all known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention hazard. Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Soups are subject to this recall:

  • 6 pounds of 24-ounce clear plastic containers of Ukrop’s Chili Flavored Soup with Beans and Chicken with a sell-by date of 02/08/17 on the label
  • 39 pounds of 24-ounce clear plastic containers of Ukrop’s Chili Flavored Soup with Beans and Beef with a sell-by date of 02/08/17 on the label

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. Additional images of the recalled Soups can be found on the Web site above.

According to the USDA, the Soups subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 19979” or “P-19979” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The Soups were shipped to retail locations in Virginia.

The problem was discovered on February 3, 2017 when retail store employee noticed the Soups’ product label did not match the actual product.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Soups and could be allergic to their ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Soups, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
