US/Silver Spring: Legendary Baking recalls certain batch/lots of Private Selection Salted Caramel Chocolate Almond Pies due to undeclared or improperly declared Almond Nuts and Eggs, both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Chocolate Almond Pies are subject to this recall:
- Private Selection Salted Caramel Chocolate Almond Pies, sold in 34 ounce, clear plastic dome containers with black plastic bases, all marked with a lot number of CH17025 printed on the side of the clear plastic dome.
==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.
According to the FDA, Legendary Baking has recalled certain batch/lots of its 34 ounce packages of Private Selection Salted Caramel Chocolate Almond Pies because the Almonds and Eggs in these foodstuffs were listed under “may contains” rather than the more accurate, “contains” section. If you have an allergy to Almond Nuts and/or Eggs, you should not eat this product.
The recalled Private Selection Salted Caramel Chocolate Almond Pies were distributed in Kroger, Fry’s and Smith’s retail stores in the following states: AL, AZ, GA, IL, IN, KY, MI, NM, OH, SC, TN and WV.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Chocolate Almond Pies and could be allergic to their Almond Nut and/or Egg ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
