Canada/Ottawa:Prairie Popcorn brand Popcorn Prairie Popcorn recalls certain batch/lots of Prairie Popcorn brand Popcorn due to undeclared Milk, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. Additional information:
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Popcorn products are subject to this recall:

  • Prairie Popcorn brand Sour Cream and Chives flavour, 70 bag; all packages where Milk is not declared on the label; UPC: 6 38845 90450 6
  • Prairie Popcorn brand Salt & Vinegar flavour, 60 gram bag; all packages where Milk is not declared on the label; UPC: 6 38845 90453 7
  • Prairie Popcorn brand Bumbleberry flavour, 210 gram bag; all packages where Milk is not declared on the label; UPC: 6 38845 90444 5

According to the CFIA, this recall was initiated after Milk was found as an ingredient in the above listed Popcorn products but was not declared as such on the product label.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Popcorn and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
