The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Vegetable Mixes are subject to this recall:

  • The Sunmba Frozen Ajiaco Vegetable Mix, sold in two-pound plastic bags and with a use-by date of November 5, 2017 or earlier, and with a UPC number of 85641400172 This product was distributed in Florida and sold between December 24, 2016 to January 22, 2017 from the following stores (in alphabetical order):

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, Barberi International Inc. has recalled the above batch/lots of Sunmba Frozen Ajiaco Vegetable Mix products across Florida due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.

==> For information about Listeriosis (Listeria poisoning), please consult the “Illnesses” tab on this site, located at the top of this page.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Vegetable Mixes, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the Vegetables to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
