Australia/Canberra: Bubba Beanbags recalls certain batch/lots of Baby Bean Bags due to suspected failure of the internal bag to not be fitted with a child-resistant slide fastener, possibly allowing access to the inner polystyrene beans and consequential choking and suffocation hazards to young children. ACCC: http://ht.ly/R285308wbVU
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Baby Bean Bags Chairs are subject to this recall:
- Bubba Beanbags Baby Bean Bag Chairs, unfilled Baby Bean Bags that include two (2) detachable covers (one with a safety harness and one without). The Bags are approximately sized 65 cm by 55 cm at the base and 45 cm by 20cm at the top.
==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs, or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.
Please consult the photograph above for details of the product’s design and retail presentation. Additional color/style variations of the recalled Bean Bag Chairs are pictured on the Web site above.
According to the ACCC, the recalled Chairs do not meet the Consumer Goods (Bean Bags) Safety Standard 2014 as per amendment on 1 July 2016.
The internal bag is not fitted with a child-resistant slide fastener and may therefore allow access to the polystyrene beans, which pose potential choking and suffocation hazards to young children. The warning label also contains incorrect information and may result in misuse.
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Bean Bag Chairs, please do not use them nor let your child play with or near them. Instead, kindly you should contact Bubba Beanbags at email@example.com to make arrangements to return the Bean Bag. The company will remove the toggle/puller on the internal zip and attach a current warning label on the Bean Bag before returning it.
