Additional information:

Among the 30 recalls the European Union has announced in this fourth report of January 2017, the following notification was made:

Unbranded USB Power Adapters with Four USB Power Ports sold with a type/number model designation of 8522367745 but with no disclosed barcodes/UPCs. The product can be further identified by red outer packaging while the device itself is white in color, accompanied by two small pictures of smartphones.

The front package text reads, in part, “USB Power Adapters with Four USB Power Port” and in a smaller caption, “For iPhone / iPad  / Galaxy 5 / Galaxy TAB / BlackBerry / Nokia / LG / Sony / HTC / Moto”

The type of hazards presented in this computer accessory include flammability and electric shock. Specifically, the plastic enclosure in which this product is sold is suspected of being highly flammable. If exposed to a flame, therefore, the product would catch and spread fire. It would also pose a consequential risk of electric shock.

Because this defect poses a risk of fire and electric shock, it does not, therefore, comply with the requirements of European Low Voltage Directive and the relevant European Standard EN 60950. As such, the USB Power Adapters With Four USB Power Port accessories have been ordered recalled from end users and withdrawn from the European marketplace.
