Canada/Ottawa: britgrocer.com Inc. recalls certain batch/lots of Thorntons brand Hollow Milk Chocolate Jolly Santas due to risks of plastic fragments and consequential ingestion and internal laceration hazard. CFIA: http://ht.ly/jn5n308puDy
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (“CFIA”) reports the following Chocolate Treats are subject to this recall:
- Thorntons brand Hollow Milk Chocolate Jolly Santas, sold in 200 gram boxes with red trim and a clear front showing the inner Santa. All product codes are affected by this recall and the Chocolate was sold with an UPC of 5016346234721

According to the CFIA, britgrocer.com Inc. has recalled all batch/lots of its Hollow Milk Chocolate Jolly Santa Treats because they may contain plastic fragments.
If plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.
==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Chocolate Santas, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store or outlet where you purchased it for a full refund.
