US/Washington: @ease Sweet Chili Chicken Meal Recall [US]Mountain View Packaging, LLC recalls an estimated 1,080 pounds of Chicken Products due to suspected mislabeling and consequential undeclared Egg, Milk and Wheat, all known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible triggers of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. Additional information:
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Chicken Meals are subject to this recall:

  • 18-ounce packages of “@ease Sweet Chili Chicken Meal Starter, Fully Cooked, Boneless, Battered White Meat Chicken in a Sweet Chili Sauce” with a best-by date of 5/17/2018 and a UPC of 36800-38348.

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Chicken Meals can be found on the Web site above.

According to the USDA, the Chicken Meals subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. P-39904” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were sold to a distributor in Utah for further distribution in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming.

The Sweet Chili Chicken Meals were packaged on December 23, 2016 and December 30, 2016.

The problem was discovered on January 13, 2017 by a store clerk who was attempting to scan the items to place them into inventory at his store. Specifically, the UPC numbers did not match the UPC codes. The firm notified USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (“FSIS”) of the problem on January 17, 2017.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession these recalled Chicken Meals and could be allergic to their Egg, Milk and/or Wheat ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
