The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Baked Goods are subject to this recall:

  • Bakewell Desserts Chocolate Lava Cake 4″ by 4″, four (4) ounce (113 gram) portion; UPC: 685961103092
  • Cappuccino Carnival Cake, two (2) kilogram portion; UPC: 10685961100814
  • Chocolate Bar Cake 12″ by 4″, 1050 gram portion; UPC: 685961101357
  • Mango Carnival Cake, 2.5 kilogram portion; UPC: 10685961100913
  • Tuxedo Bar Cake 12″ by 4″, 1050 gram portion; UPC: 685961100381
  • Tuxedo Bar Cake 12″ by 4″, 1050 gram portion; UPC: 685961101234

According to the FDA, King’s Pastry has recalled various batch/lots of Tuxedo Bar Cakes and Chocolate Bar Cakes because the products contain Hazelnuts, an ingredient not listed on the product label. The recalled food products were distributed to retail stores and food service establishments in Illinois, Hawaii, Massachusetts and New York, as follows:

  • The Tuxedo Bar Cakes and Chocolate Bar Cakes were sold in a clear, rectangular semi-rigid plastic “domes” with a black plastic base.
  • The Chocolate Lava Cakes were sold in clear, square-shaped rigid plastic containers sealed with plastic film. This wrapped Cakes is then packaged in a square-shaped thin cardboard box.
  • The Cappuccino Carnival Cakes and Mango Carnival Cakes were packaged in cardboard trays and sold in cafeterias.

Please note: all King’s Pastry products purchased before January 1, 2017 are subject to this recall.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of these recalled Baked Goods and could be allergic to their Hazelnut ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
