Australia/Canberra: Target Australia Pty Ltd. recalls certain batch/lots of Target brand Layered Baking Mixes due to suspected insect contamination, a serious health hazard. ACCC: http://ht.ly/3R0f3088VWl
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Baking Mixes are subject to this recall:
- Pre-prepared Christmas Sprinkles Cookie Mixes sold in 530-gram glass Mason Jars with a best-before date of 20 June 2017
- Pre-prepared Triple Chocolate Chip Cookie Mixes sold in 530-gram glass Mason Jars with a best-before date of 20 June 2017

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated due to suspected Red Flour Beetle insect contamination. If the contaminated Baking Mixes are consumed, it could lead to intestinal discomfort and other heath problems requiring medical attention.
==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Baking Mixes, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
