US/Silver Spring: Stauffer Animal Cracker Recall [US]D.F. Stauffer Biscuit Co., Inc. recalls one (1) batch/lot of Original Animal Crackers due to undeclared Milk, a known allergen, source of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Animal Crackers are subject to this recall:

  • Original Animal Crackers, sold in 32-ounce red-colored plastic bags with bag lot numbers LC120716 or LD120716, a case lot number of L120716, a best-by date code of 07SEP17 and a UPC of 7232091022

According to the FDA, D.F. Stauffer Biscuit Co has recalled the above-identified batch/lot of 32-ounce bags of Original Animal Crackers because they may have been packaged with other cookies that contain Milk powder. People who are allergic to Milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume this product.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Animal Crackers and could be allergic to their Milk ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
