US/Washington: Cooking Light Magazine Lemon Chicken Recall [US]Perfect Fit Meals, LLC recalls certain batch/lots of Chicken Breast Products due to suspected misbranding and consequential undeclared Milk and Wheat, both known allergens, sources of dietary intolerance and possible trigger of Anaphylaxis, a serious and potential fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention. The US Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) reports the following Chicken is subject to this recall:

  • 10.5-ounce sealed tray package containing “From the Kitchen of Cooking Light Magazine: Lemon Pepper Chicken with use- or freeze-by date of 01/21/17 and lot code 2457744.2

Please consult the photograph above for details of the food’s packaging, design and retail presentation. One (1) additional image of the recalled Lemon Pepper Chicken can be found on the Web site above.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, item numbers or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FDA, the Lemon Pepper Chicken subject to recall bears establishment number “P-827” inside the USDA mark of inspection. This item was shipped to military commissaries and retail establishments nationwide.

The problem was discovered when a distributor notified the establishment that the Lemon Pepper Chicken had been incorrectly labeled. Although the product is labeled “Lemon Pepper Chicken” it actually contains a different product, specifically “Blackened Chicken Breast”, a food product that contains both Milk and Wheat allergens.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Lemon Pepper Chicken Products and could be allergic to their Milk and/or Wheat ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
