US/Washington: Schreiber Processing Corp. recalls an estimated 2,330 pounds of Meal Mart brand Chicken Tender Products due to suspected plastic fragment contamination and consequential ingestion and internal laceration hazards. USDA: http://ht.ly/9rXU3086urX
The United States Department of Agriculture (“USDA”) reports the following Chicken Tenders are subject to this recall:
- 10-pound boxes containing Meal Mart Battered & Breaded Chicken Breast Tenders bearing an item code of 03-CTB and a production code 0246
==> No barcodes, UPCs or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the USDA, the products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-787” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to institutional and retail locations in New Jersey, New York and Washington.
The problem was discovered after the firm received a consumer complaint.
If plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.
==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure small children and pets can’t access the suspect food.
If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Chicken Breast Tenders, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
