Additional information:
The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (“ACCC”) reports the following Garlic Bread are subject to this recall:

  • ALDI Me’n’u Garlic Bread Twin Pack 450 gram loaf – sold in NSW & Qld only. All use-by dates from 01 November 2016 up to and including 15 February 2017.
  • Woolworths Homebrand Garlic Bread 450 gram loaf – sold nationally. All use-by dates from 01 November 2016 up to and including 15 February 2017.
  • FoodWorks Best Buy Twin Pack Garlic Bread 450 gram loaf – sold in NSW & Qld only. All Julian dates from 6273 up to and including 7013.
  • Foodland Garlic Bread Twin Pack 450 gram loaf – sold in SA only. All Julian dates from 6273 up to and including 7013.
  • IGA Bakers Oven Garlic Bread Minis 4-Pack – sold nationally. All Julian dates from 6273 up to and including 7013.
  • IGA Bakers Oven Twin Pack Garlic Bread – sold nationally. All Julian dates from 6273 up to and including 7013.

==> No barcodes, UPCs, APNs, or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the ACCC, this recall was initiated after it was suspected that the above batch/lots of Garlic Bread may have been contaminated with plastic fragments.

If plastic or metal fragments are ingested, they could cut the mouth, stomach or other parts of the GI tract, cause intestinal perforation or serious infection and possibly require surgical intervention for their safe removal.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure pets and small children can’t access the suspect food.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession the recalled Garlic Bread, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, kindly return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.
