The UK Food Standards Agency (“FSA”) reports the following Cupcakes are subject to recall:

  • Morrisons Market Street Assorted Party Cupcakes, sold in 12-packs with best-before date ranges up to and including 16 January 2017 for a retail price of £6
  • Morrisons Market Street Assorted Party Cupcakes, sold in 6-packs with best-before date ranges up to and including 16 January 2017 for a retail price of £4
  • Morrisons Market Street Cupcakes, sold as Individual Cupcakes with best-before date ranges up to and including 16 January 2017 for a retail price of 80p

==> No barcodes, UPCs, EANs, or other identification numbers were listed with this recall notification.

According to the FSA, Morrisons has recalled the above batch/lots of Morrisons Market Street Assorted Party Cupcakes because they contain cereals comprised of Gluten (Wheat, Barley, Rye, Oats), Egg, Fish, Milk and Soya, none of which is listed on the Cupcakes’ product label.

If you believe you have purchased or have in your possession any of the recalled Cupcakes and could be allergic to their Gluten (Wheat, Barley, Rye, Oats), Egg, Fish, Milk and/or Soya ingredients, have a close family member who is allergic or has previously experienced Anaphylaxis or are unsure of your allergy status, please do not consume them directly nor use them as an ingredient in another dish or preparation. Instead, return the product to the store where you purchased it for a full refund.

==> Never depend on your senses of sight, smell, taste or touch to confirm food poisoning, adulteration or contamination. If in doubt about the safety of any food, return it to your retailer for refund or toss it out in your household garbage, making sure neither small children nor household pets can access the suspect food.
