According to the FDA, Hostess Brands (“Hostess”) has recalled certain batch/lots of Holiday White Peppermint Hostess Twinkies due to a recall by Blommer Chocolate Company, a secondary supplier of the confectionary coating used on the Hostess product. In turn, the confectionary coating contains Milk Powder ingredients recalled by Valley Milk Products, a primary supplier of Milk-based ingredients for numerous baked goods sold throughout the United States.

Although the recalled Twinkies have not, as yet, tested positive for Salmonella, the Milk Powder ingredients from Valley Milk Products have tested positive for Salmonella contamination and have caused a nationwide recall of numerous snack and other foods.

==> For information about Salmonellosis (Salmonella poisoning), please consult the “Illnesses” tab on this site, located at the top of this page.
